Hey everyone! I've been a little MIA lately, but for good reason...I went to Europe for Spring Break with my family. We went to London first, then traveled on to Paris. I am so excited to share my trip with you all, share where we ate, the sites we saw, and most importantly, pictures! Just for this week my story series will be put on hold.

To be a stereotypical tourist on vacation is the best thing to do, it ensures that you see everything, truly soaking up where you are. London was the perfect place to sight see, and me and my family sure fit a lot in. We visited for four days and fit in Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus, Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, Kensington Palace, The Tower of London, and The London Eye. Of course we could not leave London without getting a little taste of how the locals live, so we visited Portobello Market and Borough Market by way of The Tube, their underground train system.

Kensington Palace
Something that was breath-taking at every location was the immaculate architecture. Everything was so extravagant, there was art on every corner of the palace making it nearly impossible to capture it in one photo. The gallery staff here shared some pretty cool ghost stories with us that was a reminder that these palaces were actually homes where people were born, lived, and died.

Princess Diana's dresses were also displayed in Kensington Palace which was so cool to see the dresses from fashion icon she was.
Westminster Abbey

This is the cathedral where the royals worship. All of the royal coronations and weddings happen at the Abbey therefore it is the house of the coronation chair. Many graves are also in the Abbey including Winston Churchill, Charles Dickens, and Sir Issac Newton. Unfortunately we were not allowed to take pictures inside so here is the beautiful outside.
Borough Market

As previously mentioned, we had to get a taste of the local life. In our research my sister and I both saw Borough Market come up multiple times so we knew it was worth a visit.
Everyone was so friendly at the market and we all had some good finds!
The market is mainly food, with fresh seafood, and fresh meats and cheeses. While we were walking the gentleman who worked at this stand called out to us and offered for us to try some oysters...when in London right?!
Buckingham Palace
We saw the changing of the guards at Buckingham Palace. An hour long ceremony that took place inside the gates. It was very crowded but completely worth it! The changing of the guards is not something that happens every day so we were lucky to have our visit planned on a day that it took place. Sadly though, the quintessential photo next to a guard is no longer allowed as tourists have gotten too disruptive for the guards actually doing their job. Guards now stand inside of the gates.
London Eye

Last but not least the London Eye! This is the ferris wheel that overlooks the entire city, it was our perfect send off.

All in all London was an amazing trip! The people were so friendly and the city was very diverse. Next stop was Paris, post coming soon!
Cheers!
